What is Paper Engineering?

Paper engineering is the creation of three dimensional books, cards, promotional pieces or packaging.

A skilled paper engineer designs a special pattern of cuts and folds. This produces a structure that pops up, or moves three dimensionally, as your prospect manipulates it.

It’s a mechanical paper toy with an involving form and a movement that carries your message straight into your prospect’s hands!

Promtional cards from Paper & Pixel

Remember your favourite toys? How they absorbed your attention. Time would mean nothing. Imagine a piece with that sort of fascination in the hands of a potential client. They’ll play with the piece many times over. In playing, they absorb your messages. Judgement is suspended as they play.

Complex ideas become easier to explain. Low key and subtle messages stand a much greater chance of being understood and acted upon.

All this while the mental gatekeeper is out to lunch.

It stands out from its fellow messages on the desktop.

Nobody finds it easy to throw away a toy. They are more likely to hang on to it indefinitely.

Paper engineered messages -
• are the perfect addition to a campaign when you need standout and longevity
• cut through the clutter in a message-saturated environment
• help in selling high-end products with a reasonable allowable (that fraction of the retail price ‘allowed’ for sales and marketing)
• make a startling impact at an event
• make a highly memorable ‘memento’ to be left by your sales staff

“Jean Kropper has a passion and enthusiasm for paper and what you can achieve with it- like a very select few.… I have personally recommended her to clients because her 3 dimensional work is very different from any I've seen.”
